While 304L stainless steel plate has great corrosion resistance, 316/316L plates offer even stronger corrosion resistance due to its increased nickel content than 304 and 304L, particularly in marine applications. For applications where heat is a concern, type 321 stainless steel plates are a viable option. Whereas 304L is often used for applications up to 500 degrees Celsius, 321 can be utilised in applications up to 900 degrees Celsius.
